new snow a sign of transfiguration

My family was up in the Sierras last weekend to enjoy the snow. Well, we got our fill of the white stuff, 20 inches of it fell in a two day. Luckily it stopped before Sunday so we were able to go to Mass that morning. The priest had a great analogy in the homily regarding the Gospel reading of the transfiguration. He said the new snow transfigured the world around the mountain so we are getting a glimpse of what is to come when we meet the transfigured Christ. It was very beautiful to see - all the white snow in the trees, on the ground and on the roofs.
